The Student & Senior Pen Pal Program provides an opportunity for students and seniors alike to gain friendship with a person from another generation. Sign up online through Rec Desk HERE or at the front desk to be paired with someone who shares your interests. Once paired, bring your un-sealed letters in a stamped envelope to the Community Center’s front desk to be delivered after approval.
Join our yoga instructor, Cyndi, on Tuesday, November 9th from 8:45am-9:45am for an introductory event. Cyndi leads chair yoga for 55+, which is one of the gentlest forms of yoga available. Participants perform postures and breathing exercises with the aid of a chair (sitting & standing). Students can experience the many benefits of yoga without having to get up or down from the floor. Benefits include increased balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion, and stress reduction. Come solo or bring a friend–we will be happy to have you!
FREE donuts and coffee will be provided! Register HERE
Veteran’s Free Service Information will be held Thursday, November 11th from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Tiffany Morgan discusses the free service she offers through Senior Care Authority. She will discuss Veterans’ Benefits, Veteran Pension and Surviving Veteran Spousal Pension. These pensions can be life changing and DO NOT require you to change doctors or even see a VA doctor at all. The pension was designed to keep senior Veterans and their surviving spouses out of nursing homes. Like Social Security, this pension is through the end of life. There will be allotted time for questions at the end. Snacks will be provided. You are likely eligible for more than you think! Register HERE
