The City of Middleburg Heights Fire Department is proud to offer two secure lock box options to help protect residents during emergencies—especially when quick access to a home is needed.

Option 1: Knox Box (Fire Department Access Only)

  • High-security lock box with the same durable construction used on commercial buildings.
  • Only accessible by the Fire Department using a secure key held exclusively by our firefighters.
  • Great for residents who want added peace of mind in emergency situations.
  • The Knox Box is a more premium option and is  opens in a new windowpurchased directly through Knox by clicking here.

Option 2: Residential Combination Lock Box

  • Master Lock combination box that can be securely installed by our team—typically on or near your garage door frame.
  • The resident chooses the 4-digit code (cannot use repeating numbers like 1111 or 2222).
  • You can share the code with trusted family members, caregivers, or neighbors, while the Fire Department also keeps the code on file for emergency access.
  • This lock box is available for purchase at cost from the Fire Department.
