Abrams/Big Creek Pkwy Stormwater Basin

The basin project has made significant progress and is nearing completion, with the majority of the major excavation and infrastructure work now finished.

Completed work includes:

• Clearing and grubbing of the site, including tree removal
• Removal of the existing shed, fencing, cleanouts, headwall and pipe
• Installation of the outlet headwall along Big Creek Parkway
• Installation of a 3’ x 6’ reinforced concrete box culvert that connects the outlet control structure to the outlet headwall
• Excavation of the lower basin and micropool, with the upper basin substantially excavated
• Installation of two headwalls and a 36-inch storm sewer connecting the upper and lower basins
• Stabilization of areas with unsuitable soils using stone and clay
• Installation of fencing above the outlet headwall
• Delivery and initial planting of trees in the lower basin

Remaining work includes completing tree and vegetation plantings, seeding and strawing the basin, and completing the walking trail and sidewalk repairs. Final landscaping, site cleanup and punch list items will follow.

The project is currently anticipated to be completed in October.
