1-12-26: Weekly Update for Smith Road Southland Streetscape (Pearl Rd. to W. 130^th St.)

Southland Smith Road Transformation

The Smith Road Streetscaping Project is moving closer to completion. Smith Road between Pearl and W. 130^th is now open to two-way traffic and will remain open for the remainder of the project. Pavement markings are in-place to help residents adjust to the new road layout.

• The MOT barrels that remain onsite are there to help delineate the parking shoulders and to cover tripping hazards in the sidewalk during the winter season. (There’s no exact timeline as to when MOT barrels will be removed).
• For the remainder of the season, the contractors will continue the installation of the irrigation system, as well as installing light poles and wiring. In the spring, landscaping will continue and the traffic signal poles will be installed.
