“Summer in the City” festival breaks attendance record

sic456The 6th annual “Summer in the City” festival was once again, a smashing success and with a well-attended, record breaking crowd of over 27,000.

The festival started off with the Jim Mihu Car and Motorcycle Show and “The ReBeats” rocked the event with the nostalgic beat of 60’s music. Both kids and adults, all weekend long, enjoyed the additional amusement rides provided by Bates Amusement.

Friday evening began with another record breaking crowd of participants and viewers at the parade. We were honored to have Cuyahoga County Executive Director, Ed FitzGerald, serve as our grand marshal and lead the procession down the soon to be candycarpeted Pearl Road that concluded at the “Summer in the City” festival.  A large crowd was then entertained by the high energy dance band “La Favour.”

The sultry Saturday weather didn’t discourage festival lovers from enjoying rides, games and entertainment by “Surf’s Up, ” a Beach Boys tribute band.  The festival and evening concluded with a sparkly and spectacular fireworks display.
