Mayor Gary W. Starr and Middleburg Heights Chamber of Commerce President Daniel Zawadzki attended the ribbon cutting and grand opening for the Polaris Career Center Retail Services program mock store. The Polaris Retail Services program has partnered with CVS Health to create a mock store which will give students real world experience in a retail environment. Through this partnership, CVS donated shelving, products, signage and training resources for this new initiative at Polaris.

While in the program, students will learn stocking procedures, customer service, multi-tasking, point of sales, and get a detailed understanding of a retail setting. This program offered at Polaris is the first of its kind in the State of Ohio and is made possible thanks to CVS Pharmacy’s community outreach initiatives targeted to those with disabilities and veterans.

In addition, Polaris Career Center is currently investing over $50 million in exterior and interior improvements to its 270,000 square-foot facility in Middleburg Heights. This project will include a complete redesign of the building exterior and interior spaces as well as all new equipment for labs and classrooms. Polaris Career Center is an outstanding asset to Middleburg Heights and the Northeast Ohio region.
