Happy laughing little boy playing in outdoor swimming pool on a hot summer day. Kids learn to swim. Child with colorful floaties and floating kickboard. Family vacation in tropical resort.

2017 is the second year in a row that the Middleburg Heights Recreation Department has won an OPRA award. Last year we took 2nd place for our end-of-summer Family Fishing Day.

This year we received the 1st Place Award of Excellence in the Special Population category for the quality and success of our Adapted Swim program. The Adapted Swim program is just one of the Department’s adapted recreation offerings.

“These awards represent the best of the best in parks and recreation in Ohio,” said OPRA Executive Director Woody Woodward. “These programs are changing the lives of people around the state and are building better communities in Ohio. Winners include cities, conservancy districts, and park districts. Our members are offering amazing programs and great facilities in communities of all types around Ohio.”
