Local businessman hosting 6th food drive to help neighbors in need

Even in a prosperous city like Middleburg Heights, there are those who don’t have enough money to buy food: a senior citizen struggling on a limited income, a breadwinner losing a job, a worker who suddenly can’t work because of illness or injury.

Bob Kovacevic, owner of Minuteman Press in Middleburg Heights, has seen the need growing and feels obligated to reach out and help.

That’s why he is conducting his 6th annual food drive from now until October 23.

All non-perishable food, household items and cash donations he collects will go directly to the SCAN Hunger Center and the Middleburg Heights Food Pantry.

Donations can be made at Minuteman Press, 6886 Pearl Road, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. any weekday. The shop is opposite Southland Shopping Center, directly across the street from Party City. The telephone number is (440) 887-1000.

Last year Minuteman Press of Middleburg Heights collected over 2,000 lbs. of food as well as $710 in donations. Bob is committed to surpassing that goal this year, but he needs your help.

Local businesses are also invited to set up collection spots where employees can contribute. If transporting the collected items is inconvenient, Bob and his team will be happy to make a pick-up.
