CHILDREN FROM THE COMMUNITY LEARN ABOUT FIRE SAFETY THROUGH ART

Every Fall after learning more about fire safety, children from Big Creek Elementary and the Academy of St. Bartholomew participate in an annual coloring contest creating posters of the important information they learned. Winners from each grade of this local contest are selected by the Middleburg Heights Fire Department. Only two winning entries are sent to the Fire Marshal’s office to compete in the State contest.

The Middleburg Heights Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s office surprised Annika Yoders – Big Creek Elementary and Payton Merlino – St. Bartholomew with the news that their posters were selected.

You can see Annika’s poster here and Payton’s poster here.
