Weekly Update: Sears-Halle Demo Project
11-10-25: Demolition work is completed at the former Sears Auto Center building at 6950 West 130th Street.
The entire former Halle’s Department Store building in Middleburg Heights was removed in six weeks! Removal of the building floor and foundation walls, and site grading, will continue through the end of October. This site will be redeveloped as a mixed-use building which will bring upscale residential, new restaurant and retail space, and luxury amenities to the Southland business district along the improved Smith Road. This transformational redevelopment, along with the new 160,000 square-foot Meijer supercenter which will be constructed on the former Sears site, will spur additional redevelopment in the Southland Shopping Center business district.
The former Sears property is not accessible to the public during demolition and redevelopment.
