Attention: Smith Road and Sheldon Road Construction Detour

The City of Middleburg Heights is closely collaborating with our partners at the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works to successfully coordinate two (2) major road construction projects that are in proximity.

Sheldon Road from Engle Road to Smith Road is being repaved starting Summer 2024. The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works is bidding and managing the project for the cities of Middleburg Heights and Brook Park.

The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works is putting out to bid the Smith Road Construction Project in Spring 2024. Due to a pending $1,370,000 State of Ohio Public Works grant that becomes available in late Summer 2024 and the Sheldon Road construction work, the project, located between Sheldon Road and Pearl Road, will occur over the 2024 and 2025 construction seasons.

A new waterline, storm sewers, and curve realignment work near Stroud Road will occur on Smith Road in Fall 2024. The repaving work on Smith Road will start in Spring 2025.
