Great New Businesses continue to open in Middleburg Heights

In 2024, the City of Middleburg Heights continues to embody resilience and vibrancy, showcasing ongoing growth in economic development. This vitality is evident in a surge of activity and investment, exemplified by various ongoing and completed projects shaping the city’s landscape. A key milestone is the expansion of the Middleburg Heights medical corridor with the opening of the new Cleveland Clinic Middleburg Heights Family Health Center, enriching the city’s healthcare offerings. Noteworthy developments include the bustling Southland Business District’s Pearl Plaza and Pearl Crossings, introducing new businesses and a second ALDI supermarket.

The city has taken substantial strides in the redevelopment of Southland. The acquisition of the Sears property in September 2023 marks a pivotal moment, setting the stage for a comprehensive redevelopment project. Future road improvements on Smith Road from Pearl to West 130th, will look to enhance Middleburg Heights’ overall landscape.

The collaborative efforts of Mayor Matt Castelli, City Council, and the team at City Hall continue to play a crucial role in Middleburg Heights’ enduring economic success.

Cleveland Clinic Middleburg Heights Family Health Center:
The recently opened Cleveland Clinic Middleburg Heights Family Health Center at 17840 Bagley Road is a significant addition. Spanning 93,000 square feet, it stands as the largest Cleveland Clinic facility of its kind in the area. This expansion not only enhances the medical corridor but also brings substantial investment and over 270 new professional jobs to Middleburg Heights.

Serpentini Collision Center:
January 11, 2024, marked the grand opening of the 50,000 square-foot Serpentini Collision Center at 6689 Engle Road. Mayor Castelli and associates welcomed over 40 professional and skilled employees, extending congratulations to Bob Serpentini for his state-of-the-art facility.

Pearl Crossings:
The Pearl Crossings project at the corner of Pearl Road and West 130th Street is nearing completion. Alongside the new WetGo car wash for Middleburg Heights Giant Eagle, the development includes new buildings for Starbucks and McAlister’s Deli.

First Watch:
The beautiful new Middleburg Heights First Watch located in Middleburg Towne Square is now open for breakfast , brunch and lunch with a great new menu including brunch cocktails.

Pearl Plaza:
Site work has commenced for a new Aldi store which will serve as the anchor for Pearl Plaza which includes Chipotle, SVS Vision, Citizens Bank, Smoothie King, AT&T, and a future Noodles & Co. Restaurant.

Panera Bread and Citizens Bank:
Progress is swift for the new building housing Panera Bread and Citizens Bank at 18000 Bagley Road. The new Panera will feature a convenient drive-thru window.

Honda of Middleburg Heights:
Business redevelopment continues with preliminary approval for the expansion plans of Honda of Middleburg Heights at 7700 Pearl Road. The larger Honda store will include an expanded service center and a spacious showroom.

Plaza on Pearl:
The Plaza on Pearl, anchored by India Grocers, is on the verge of completion. Exterior glass installation is expected soon, adding another dimension to Middleburg Heights.

Marathon Gas Station & Convenience Store:
Site work is ongoing for a new gas station, convenience store, and quick-serve restaurant at the corner of Bagley and Pearl, with the delivery of sizable gas tanks.
