PUBLIC COMMENTS REQUEST: Smith Road, Southland Reconstruction and Streetscape Projects

The City of Middleburg Heights and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), invite the public to provide comments regarding the reconstruction and streetscape for Smith Road, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The project consists of construction of a Multi-purpose Trail on Smith Road from West 130th to Pearl Road including improved pedestrian crossings, sidewalk improvements, and multi-modal transportation enhancements.

The project will occur within the existing right-of-way limits. During construction, it is anticipated that at least one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times. Pedestrians will be rerouted to one side of the roadway. Construction of the Multi-purpose Trail is currently scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2025 and will last approximately six months.

Questions and comments must be submitted by August 20th, 2023, and may include the effect of the project on local residents, air, quality, the local economy, floodplains, and historic or cultural resources.
