The Raising of Sapphire Corporate Center Shows Economic Strength in Middleburg Heights

The first of almost 200 wall panels are being installed for the new 300,000 square-foot industrial building which is being developed on Engle Road in Middleburg Heights just north of Fat Head’s along Interstate-71. Approximately 25 wall panels are installed each day. Watch some of the construction here.

The new building, dubbed Sapphire Corporate Center, will be more than double the size of the Fat Head’s building. Sapphire Corporate Center boasts 50-foot column spacing, 32-foot ceiling height, and direct visibility from Interstate-71 with 115,000+ daily traffic counts.

The project will reflect an investment of over $20 million, and is expected to bring at least 200 new jobs to Middleburg Heights. In addition, the project will generate over 200 construction jobs during its development phase. Phase one of the building is expected to be completed this fall.

During the pandemic crisis, Middleburg Heights initiated a number of measures, including conducting virtual Boards and Commissions meetings and City Council meetings, to keep development projects moving forward in the City.
