Middleburg Heights is a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio and is situated on the southwest edge of the Greater Cleveland area. It is centrally located 15 minutes from downtown Cleveland; 25 minutes from Medina, Ohio; 40 minutes from Akron, Ohio; and less than two hours from Columbus, Ohio.

Middleburg Heights has two separate direct access points to Interstate 71, at Bagley Road and at Pearl Road. This major highway provides a direct link between Cleveland and Columbus. Traffic counts on Interstate 71 at Bagley Road, in Middleburg Heights, exceed 100,000 vehicles per day.

Interstate 71 also provides direct access to the Ohio Turnpike (Interstate 80) just three minutes to the south and direct access to Interstate 480 less than five minutes to the north.

In addition to its close proximity to major markets and direct highway access, Middleburg Heights is located only five minutes from Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport. The airfield has two parallel 9,000-foot runways and one 6,000-foot runway, each with all-weather capabilities, with over 6,000 public parking spaces on the premises.

The airport has direct international air service to England, Mexico and Canada and is a hub for Continental Airlines in addition to being serviced by eleven additional airlines and eight cargo lines.

Middleburg Heights also enjoys excellent access to public transportation with RTA bus lines servicing Bagley (68), Pearl (51X), Drake-Howe (51F), Strongsville Park-N-Ride (251), and Laurel Square (451), with additional access to Lorain (22) and North Olmsted (75X)

Middleburg Heights has a total population of over 15,000 in an area of approximately eight square miles, but is also home to over 1,500 businesses and their 35,000 employees.

Southland Shopping CenterHousing options are available to suit a variety of lifestyles including single-family homes ranging from an average price of $155,000 to over $400,000. Residents and businesses enjoy superb city services and a number of amenities including city parks, access to the award-winning Middleburg Heights Recreation Center with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library, ranked #1 by Hennen's American Public Library Ratings for 2006 and a numerous entertainment and shopping opportunities in the immediate area including Southland Shopping Center, which is located in Middleburg Heights.

The largest employer in Middleburg Heights is Southwest General Health Center with approximately 3,000 employees. In addition, Southwest, which is a major hospital in the area, services over 120,000 patients per year with an estimated 250,000 patient visits in addition to the 50,000 patients treated by the emergency room annually.

Other featured employers include United Parcel Service with over 2,000 employees, AmeriMark Direct with over 500 employees and Regency Hospital with over 200 employees.

Middleburg Heights is within the Berea City School District.  Specialized programs include extended Kindergarten and preschool programs as well as advanced robotics programs offered at two district high schools.

Middleburg Heights is also home to Polaris Career Center. Established in 1975, Polaris Career Center offers career-path programs for 11th and 12th grade high school students, career-technical and special interest courses for adults and on-site corporate training and consulting services for business and industry. A modern facility, convenient location and state-of-the-art equipment and technology are just part of the reason Polaris is a recognized leader in
career-technical skill training.

The State of Ohio, Cuyahoga County, and the City of Middleburg Heights maintain business development incentive programs which may benefit businesses. The City of Middleburg Heights has established two (2) Community Reinvestment Areas (CRA's) for the purpose of encouraging commercial and industrial renovation or expansion and new construction. The CRA Program is an economic development funding program intended to help commercial property owners and businesses overcome barriers to investing in real property improvement or construction projects in Middleburg Heights. In addition, the City offers a Job Creation Grant Program which could also be offered to businesses locating to Middleburg Heights. Representatives from the City of Middleburg Heights, Cuyahoga County, and the State of Ohio would welcome the opportunity to further discuss the advantages of these and other incentives, based upon the merits of the proposed business development project.

The City of Middleburg Heights is located in Northeast Ohio with a population of more than four million and a labor force of nearly two million making it the 15th-largest major metropolitan area in the United States.

The logistics infrastructure is ranked fourth in the United States. It includes the fourth largest highway system, three Class I railroads, the Port of Cleveland and world-class intermodal facilities.

The Community Center

The Community Center will be closed on Thursday, September 9 until 4 pm in order for CEI to do some work on the main power line which will result in no electricity in the building for much of the day.
