Hundreds attend tree lighting

The Middleburg Heights Community Tree Lighting Celebration was held November 27, 2009, at the Middleburg Heights Community Center.

Over 200 families enjoyed the festive celebration, which included a special holiday performance by the Midpark Magic Show Choir, balloon artists, face painting, magic tricks, Santa Claus with his elves, holiday treats and refreshments, music and singing, and the lighting of the 18-foot-tall holiday tree displayed in the atrium of the community center.

Tree Lighting

Friday, Nov. 27
All Middleburg Heights residents and business employees are invited to attend a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Center. This free holiday event is presented by the Middleburg Heights City Club. Click here to see a flyer for the event.

Food Drive Coming Up!

The 6th Annual Middleburg Heights Elected Officials Food Drive will take place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 31, at Heinen's Supermarket parking lot at Pearl and Bagley Roads.

 

The community rallied last year to support this effort, and we humbly ask your participation once again. All food and cash donations will go to the Middleburg Heights Food Pantry and S.C.A.N. Hunger Center.

High-demand food items needed:


  • peanut butter
  • jelly
  • pasta/macaroni
  • spaghetti sauce
  • cereal
  • canned or dry milk
  • canned meals
  • canned meats
    (tuna, chicken, ham, corned beef)
  • baked beans
  • sugar
  • rice
  • applesauce
  • ketchup
  • salad dressing
  • coffee
  • tea
  • cooking oil
  • canned fruit and juices
  • instant mashed potatoes

Non-food items needed:


  • paper towels
  • toilet paper
  • paper napkins
  • soap
  • laundry products
  • baby supplies
  • toothpaste
  • personal care items
