Kidszone Activities, Camps & Clubs for toddlers through 13 years

summer campersOur Kidszone Activities mission is to provide a wide variety of programs, from academic to social programs, we provide a positive and healthy environment for today’s kids!

All classes are open to Members & Non-Residents. Child must be required age by start of class. No refund or transfers after the first day of class. If approved by the Kidszone Director, before the first class: a refund or credit for future class (each with a $15 processing fee of the original total) will be deducted. Please note: You MUST register in advance for activities and clubs no later than one week (7 days) prior to each activties start date (except for open gym). Classes fill quickly & a wait list will be taken for each activity if necessary.

Our refund policy is as follows: Refunds can be issued up to a week (7 days) before activity begins (except for Summer Camp and Activities....register by June 1 for those) with a $15 processing fee deducted from the original total. A full credit can also be issued for a future Kidszone Activity. NO REFUNDS OR TRANSFERS will be granted after this date.

Kidszone Summer 2014 Activities

The following Summer Learning Clubs (K, Level 1 & Level 2)  are held on Mondays on June 16, 23, July 7, 14, 21 & 28.

Learning Club K

Join this club if you want to learn basic skills before starting school this fall! Refine counting skills, letter recognition, patterning and fine motor skills.

Grades: Kids entering Kindergarten in the fall

Time: 9:30-10:30 am

Fees: Members/Residents $24, Non-members $29

Learning Club Level 1

Keep skills strong in reading and math learned in grade K! Refine skills in writing, reading, early addition and listening skills with friends your age.

Grades: Kids entering 1st grade in the fall

Time: 10:45-11:45 am

Fees: Members/Residents $24, Non-members $29

Learning Club Level 2

Keep skills strong in reading and math learned in grade 1! Refine skills in writing, reading, addition/subtraction, telling time, counting money with friends your age.

Grades: Kids entering 2nd grade in the fall

Summer Fun

Hang out with friends your age for gym play, structured play, story time, simple crafts and more! No snacks please.

Ages: 3-4

Time: 12:00-2:00 pm

Summer Camps

Let us put your mind at ease and help you with your child care needs this summer with our annual summer camp program! Each of the 6 different camps have different themes but all are comprised of swimming (indoor only for K-1st grade), structured gym games, free play, group games, playground trips and much more! Lunch is provided each day (pizza and fresh fruit on Tue/Thur and chicken strips and fresh fruit on Wed with fruit juices/water). Please do NOT pack a lunch without speaking to the director if your child has special dietary needs.

Ages: Children entering K (must be age 5 and potty-trained) thru grade 8

Days/Dates:  Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays on June 17-19 (Hello Summer), June 24-26 (Red, White & Blue), July 8-10 (Mad Scientists), July 15-17 (Olympics With a Twist, July 22-24 (Creative Campers) & July 29-31 (Water Works).

Time: 9:00 am-2:00 pm with an option of extended care until 3 for an extra $10 per week and you must register in advance for this option.

Fees: Members/residents $45 ($35 for siblings), non-members/non-residents $55 ($45 for siblings).

For Junior Counselors (those entering grades 6-8 in the fall) the fees are $15 for members/residents & $20 for non-members/non-residents. This group will have themed activities, swimming, gym games, outdoor activities, library visits, trips to Wendy's and "lending a hand" with younger campers during craft/gym time.

Young Ambassadors

Do you have an interest in being an active role model in your city? Come join this group of students that were recognized in 2013 Smart Business Magazine as young philanthropists!

The Rec. Dept. is actively seeking the service of students (boys and girls) ages 10-14/entering 5-8 grade. Do you have an interest in being a youth role model and representative of our city? You'll have a chance to engage in a variety of service experiences, work with others, learn to solve problems and make a difference! Some service projects may be outside of meeting time (eg. Summer in the City Parade).

Ages: 10-13

Days/Dates:  Fridays 6/14-8/2

Time: 10:00 am-12:00 pm

Kids Korner

Enroll your child in a structured learning environment for kids in our Kidszone room! Weekly themes, activity sheets, "library", computer time, fine & gross motor skills all integrated to enhance early learning! Child should be able to sit and listen to a short story, feel comfortable holding a writing utensil and follow simple instructions. Snacks are permitted. Does not need to be potty trained; parent will be notified if bathroom assistance is needed. Class meets for 17 weeks.

Ages: 3-5

Saturday Sitters

Parents enjoy a night out! Drop your child off at "our house". 4 hours of fun! The night includes gym, craft, movie and pizza party. (Must be potty trained to attend-no pull-up permitted). 

Ages: 3-9

Dates: 3/15, 4/26, 5/17

Time: 4-8 pm

Fee: $10 per child3rd sibling FREE, 4th Sibling $5

Jr. Sitters

Are you looking for some "sitting" experience? If so, please consider enrolling on our Jr. Sitters program.Must be eager to lend a hand!

Ages: 10-13

Dates: 3/15, 4/26, 5/17

Time: 4-8 pm

Fee: $5

Friday Fun Nights

Hang out with friends! Toss the football, shoot hoops, play volleyball, swim & play Xbox  Kinect on a 5ft x 8ft screen in the Rec-Room. Pizza and drink will be provided during these 4 hours of fun monitored by staff.  You are premitted to bring extra money for snack bar but it is not necessary. No Refunds or Transfers

Age: 8 years & up

Dates:  4/4, 5/2

Time: 5-9 pm

Fee: $7 member/resident $9 Non Resident/Non Member

M.O.M.

Hey Moms, Dads & Caregivers!  Ready  for your young child to socialize with your assistance?  “Moms of Middleburg” has been created to provide a place to bring children together to socialize while playing in a safe friendly environment.  Short stores and activities based on sharing and manners along with free play & full all with kids your age. Enrollment fee covers (1) adult & (1) child , $20 each additional child over the age of 9 months.  Class meets for 13 weeks.

Open Gym for Runners/Walkers

Come play using all of our toys in gym! Parents can work out or relax in the center while their kids are busy at play. NO registration required-show up that day for activity.  Please try not to arrive any later than 10:15am. (Must have mastered walking for safety reasons) No flip flops, boots or socks only permitted - only soft-soled shoes. It is recommended that a punchcard be purchased for $18 for (9) visits. (No class when Berea City Schools are off)

Wee World

Ready to start a little structured play with your toddler?  This activity will provide both group and free play.  Simple theme, craft, and story will be provided. NO EXCEPTIONS must be ready to participate without parents’ assistance.

Circle Time

Is your toddler ready for structured play?  Explore nursery rhymes & more! Toddlers should put their listening ears on for this fun filled activity.

Move & Groove

Kidszone Child Care

The community center is happy to provide child care services to members and guests using the center. The Kidszone room is available for children ages newborn through 9 years.

The fee is $2 per hour. Each additional sibling costs $1 per hour (full hour will be charged regardless of the duration of stay). Punch cards valued at $20 can be purchased for $18 in The Kidszone Room. The parent/guardian must be physically in the center while the child is in The Kidszone area.

Hours for child care are:

  • Monday-Friday from 9:00 to 11 a.m. (til Noon in June, July & August) and 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Child care is not available on Sundays.
