Today Mayor Gary W. Starr, along with Councilman at Large Raymond G. Guttmann, Councilman John Grech, Councilman Michael Ference, and Councilman Bill Meany, who represented all of City Council, planted a Brandywine Maple Tree on the front lawn of the Academy of St. Bartholomew School. The Mayor and City Councilmen were joined by 350 nature enthusiasts – students at the Academy of St. Bartholomew!

Over the past year, the Service Department and Middleburg Heights Arborist Rich Bunce have planted over 120 trees.

Mayor Gary W. Starr noted, “Since the inception of this program in 1991, together with the help of 350 students from the Academy of St. Bartholomew, we are proud say that the city has planted over 4,968 trees throughout Middleburg Heights as part of Tree City USA.”

Mayor Starr also credits the hardworking and exceptional work of the entire Service Department and arborist Bunce.
