Event will let music lovers sample ultra-high-end sound, support local therapy center

Audio Video Interiors of Middleburg Heights is offering people a rare opportunity to hear their favorite songs through “the perfect loudspeaker” – $60,000 Bowers & Wilkins “Nautilus” loudspeakers – while enjoying live music, fun foods, and bourbon & wine tastings. The event, “When Music Matters,” which also includes a charity raffle, will be held Friday, March 22, 5 to 9 p.m., at Audio Video Interiors, 7204 Pearl Road, Middleburg Heights, and will benefit The Expressive Therapy Center of Akron Children’s Hospital.

The event is a celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the unique Nautilus loudspeakers, which have been selected to anchor the sound system in the 2014 Maserati Quattroporte GTS. Audio Video Interiors has been chosen as the only Bowers & Wilkins dealer between New York City and Dallas to have these speakers available for auditioning. (Event attendees are encouraged to bring their iPods or smartphones to hear what their own music sounds like through the Nautilus speakers.)

“The Bowers & Wilkins event is special because it commemorates the 20th Anniversary of the Nautilus speaker,” says Michael Pope, owner of Audio Video Interiors & Safety Technologies. “I had the pleasure to tour their facility in London and to witness firsthand B&W’s attention to detail, superior craftsmanship, and quest for the ‘perfect’ sound. The Nautilus speaker is so well engineered that it has not been changed in 20 years! The fact that they are all custom made, by the same person, in their factory in London makes them unique. And we have the only pair on display for thousands of miles!”

The theme of “When Music Matters” applies not only to those high-end speakers, but to an important local project that Audio Video Interiors has supported, The Expressive Therapy Center at Akron Children’s Hospital. Music plays a pivotal role at the Center, where seriously ill children are empowered through music and art. This “expressive” therapy helps them cope with their illness and aids in their healing.

Pope and his staff welcomed the opportunity to promote the work of The Expressive Therapy Center and to help raise funds.

“It makes me feel good,” says Pope. “Any time we can host an event that supports these fearless little warriors, their parents, and the dedicated staff at Expressive Therapy Center, it’s a win for everyone.”
