The Five Major
City Departments

Under the provisions of our City Charter, our city government is organized into five major administrative departments that provide a variety of services.

Each administrative department is under the supervision of a director, who is appointed by the mayor.



The five administrative departments required by our City Charter are:

  1. Department of Public Service
    The Director of Public Service is responsible for supervising the building division, engineering and service.

  2. Department of Public Safety
    The Director of Public Safety is responsible for supervising the fire department and the police department.

  3. Department of Economic Development
    The Director of Economic Development is responsible for new and current business development in the city.

  4. Department of Law
    The Law Director is the city's legal counsel and attorney.

  5. Department of Finance
    The Director of Finance is the city's fiscal officer and financial advisor to the mayor and the city council.

The Community Center

The Community Center will be closed on Thursday, September 9 until 4 pm in order for CEI to do some work on the main power line which will result in no electricity in the building for much of the day. All meetings, classes and activities that are normally held between 6 am-4 pm will be cancelled that day. Thank you for understanding!

Bagley Road Resurfacing Underway

After Prom Reservations

The Middleburg Heights Community Center is now taking After Prom reservations for 2011. We offer swimming, basketball, volleyball and our community rooms with a full size catering kitchen. Additional space is available for other activities. Please click here for details.

Cuyahoga County Storefront Renovation Rebate Program (SRRP)

Senior trip to Hartville, OH (Amish Country). Bus will leave at 9 a.m. & return at 2:30 p.m. Please contact Janet Shugar for details at 440-234-2255.

Saturday, September 11
NFL/Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick competition at Martau Field, 9:45 a.m. Register at the Field on day of event. This FREE event is open to all boys & girls ages 6 – 15.

Sunday, September 12
Royal Ball at the Center, 5 – 7 p.m. (tickets are available at the front desk)

Monday, September 13
Senior Meet & Greet, 9 – 11 a.m.
Senior Dance, 1 – 3 p.m.

FREE Annual Senior Health Fair at the Center, 9:30 a.m. – Noon
