AWARD-WINNING FAMILY FISHING DAY TO BE HELD SATURDAY & SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 AND 17!

Show off your angler skills or practice new skills at Family Fishing Day! The Middleburg Heights Community Center partnered with the MetroParks to have Blue Gill, Bass and Catfish swimming around for you in the Community Center Outdoor Pool to catch on Saturday, September 16 (1:00-2:30 pm, 2:45-4:15 pm & 4:30-6:00 pm) & Sunday, Sept. 17 (11:00 am-12:30 pm, 12:45-2:15 pm & 2:30-4:00 pm). Prizes will be awarded for most fish caught, biggest fish and tagged fish caught. Anglers can keep 2 fish or release an unlimited number of fish back into the pool.

Whether you’re working on your own angler skills or would like to teach a family member how to fish, Family Fishing Day will be perfect for you!

Limited rods, reels and bait will be available, so feel free to bring your own. Staff will be on hand to assist and concessions will be available during this time.

Pre-registration is required with a fee of $5 for Members/Residents and 10 for Non-residents. Sign up at the front desk.

The Middleburg Heights Recreation Department received one of the Ohio Parks and Recreation Association’s (OPRA) 2016 Awards of Excellence in the Sport Programming Category for the 2016 Family Fishing Day recognizing the Recreation Department and the Cleveland MetroParks for the event’s quality and success. “These awards represent the best of the best in parks and recreation in Ohio,” said OPRA Executive Director Woody Woodward. “These programs are changing the lives of people around the state and building better communities in Ohio.”
